Development of Transportation Plan for Dubai Silicon Oasis

In 2016, Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) Authority appointed RMC to undertake a Traffic Impact Study (TIS) for the DSO development based on the revised master plan. DSO is a mixed use development spread over approximately 7.6 million sqm area towards the south of Dubai. It is a free zone development aimed at providing a self-sufficient community including high tech offices, residences, industries, hotels, commercial, educational and healthcare facilities.

The objective of the TIS is to develop a transport masterplan based on the planned land use plan and expected traffic demand. The study would identify the potential traffic impacts of the development on the surrounding transport network and develop viable mitigation strategies to address critical locations. The study involved review and updating of planning data and transport network in the Dubai transportation model, estimating trip generation, producing traffic forecasts, assessing performance of all intersections in the study area and developing an appropriate and efficient transportation master plan fit for the purpose.
